Six Major Effects of the Micro EraHighlighted by “Micro-Tongren”

Note: On November 10, 2014, Website of China Daily (Chinadaily.com.cn) issued an in-depth report on the achievements made by Micro-Tongren in the past year since it launched. The report Six Major Effects of the Micro Era Highlighted by “Micro-Tongren” is published on the front page of Local News Broadcasting section and the secondary page of Guizhou section under China coverage. The report is as below:

It’s an important issue in urgent need to be solved by government departments at all levels to post major news on Party work and government affairs, emergencies and sensitive livelihood issues in this information age. Tongren, a city of Guizhou province, offers an answer of Tongren by greatly promoting the project of collective information release with“Micro-Tongren”.

Micro-Tongren launched in November 2013 and covers columns and services as Tongren Release, Mount Fanjing  Spirit Under Heaven, Mirco-Tong Show, Employment •Entrepreneur, Acclaimed Film Exhibition, Tongren Lifestyle, Micro Public Welfare and Xiaowei On Line. Hundreds of special topics are released and about seven messages are posted every day. Micro Tongren has been widely welcomed by microbloggers. Ever since October 2014, on “New Media Index”, pageviews “Micro Index” of Xinhuanet, and“‘Like’ Rate” of “Public Release”, the pageviews of Micro-Tongren has been listed twice as the 15th and once as the 9th nationally and has been once listed as No.1 in the “like” rate.

Since Micro-Tongren has complied with development demands, opened up a release channel for Party, government, enterprise and domestic information, in the past one year, six major effects have been highlighted:

1.Major news on Party work and government affairs, emergencies and sensitive domestic livelihood issues have been immediately released, which satisfies the in-time information demand of citizens in the micro era.

2.Culture-oriented tourism has beenorganized and popularized. Focusing on the cultural tourism brand of Brahma Pure Land Tongren the Peach Garden and the urban brand “Capital of Wuling  City of Justice”, relevant news have been planed and pushed. 10 million pageviews has been produced through direct clicking andeffective conversion. Thus, the idea of “location of Tongren” and “beauty of Tongren” has been effectively strengthened.

3.Relevant convenience-for-people service channels have been opened up and the“micro handling” of relevant livelihood issues has been prompted.

4.Information collection and promo shoot have been conducted. The launching of the first city-level local exhibition hall of Guizhou “Taobao• Characteristic Exhibition Hall of Chinese Tongren” and the establishment of database of e-commercial incubation demonstration center have been boosted and the exposure rate of the online shop has been improved.

5.A piece of daily news on “Micro Public Welfare” is posted to deeply impress the public with socialist core values and the public advocacy idea of “Five City Co-executor” and “Benevolent Tongren”.

6.“Wuling Mountain  Micro Index” ranking list has been built for regular release of official dynamic news. It has facilitated the all-coverage construction of WeChat official government affair handling platform in relevant departments directly underTongren Municipal People's Government and all regions (counties, development zones and high-tech zones) and characteristic rural areas (towns and offices).
